Knitting: Vanilla Socks (Advanced)
Knitting: Vanilla Socks (Advanced)

This class is for knitters who are very comfortable with the knit stitch and can work evenly to make something to size. We will make plain "vanilla" socks in the round on double-point needles, starting at the top of the sock.
This class covers swatching and adjusting for guage, taking good notes for the knitter's future reference, stretchy cast-on, working in the round, decreasing, turning heels, and kitchener stitch.
Students need about 100 grams of sock yarn and double-point needles. Variegated yarn is recommended because the changing color makes it easier to see individual stitches. Both fingering and DK weight sock yarn are available. Class participants receive 15% off sock yarn purchased at Lucky Rooster at registration or first day of class, and of course it is fine to bring your own materials.
This is a five-part class series. Four sessions should be enough to cover one sock with one session left for review or working the second sock.
