We will make a cowl in this class, which is a great starting point for knitters who want to eventually learn to make socks.
This class covers swatching and adjusting for guage, taking good notes for the knitter's future reference, stretchy cast-on, working in the round, stretchy bind-off. For stitchers who need more of a challenge, we will go through the process of designing a cowl.
Participants need about 100 grams of sock yarn and circular or double-point needles to suit the yarn they choose. Variegated yarn is recommended because the changing color makes it easier to see individual stitches. Both fingering and DK weight sock yarn are available in the shop. Class participants receive 15% off sock yarn purchased at Lucky Rooster, and of course it is fine to bring your own materials.
This is a two-part class series.
